About The Position

Visiting Angels of Lowell is hiring a Patient Care Aide - PCA to support elderly and home-care clients in Fayetteville, Lowell, Springdale, Johnson, and other nearby communities. The role helps clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may include personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, mobility assistance, medication reminders, and companionship. Aides must be prepared to respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. Part-time shifts are offered in 8-hour, 10-hour, 12-hour, and short-shift formats.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, according to client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
