About The Position

Visiting Angels of Fayetteville is hiring Patient Care Aides to support senior adults and other home-care clients in the local area, including Raeford, Silver City, Rockfish, Fayetteville, Dundarrach, and Sanford. Aides help clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, household tasks, wellness support, meal preparation, shopping, and assistance with mobility. Aides must respond appropriately to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role calls for competency, compassion, and professional discernment. Shift options include full-time and part-time work, 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts, and short shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
Compassion and interest in providing meaningful companionship to vulnerable people.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, according to their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, going to medical appointments, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes and unusual circumstances.
