About The Position

San Dimas Community Hospital, a 101-bed facility and member of Prime Healthcare, provides comprehensive healthcare services and is committed to quality, compassion, and community. The Patient Account Registrar works in the Admitting department, interviewing patients or their representatives to obtain demographic information and securing insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable. The position also works across Admitting functions, including PBX operator duties and reception areas, and uses a computer to enter and retrieve data. The registrar communicates with people of different ages, from neonatal patients through geriatrics, using age-specific techniques; maintains proficiency in medical terminology; and completes special projects or other assignments within specified timeframes. This is a per-diem position with a variable shift.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
• Customer service experience required.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to obtain patient demographic information.
