About The Position

At Sherman Oaks Hospital, the Patient Account Registrar interviews patients or their representatives to collect demographic information and obtains insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable. The role works across the Admitting department, including PBX operator functions and reception areas, and uses a computer to enter and retrieve data. The registrar communicates with patients across age groups, from neonatal through geriatric populations, using age-specific techniques, and maintains proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be provided with a specified completion timeframe. Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
Customer service experience required.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
