Patient Access Supervisor
About The Position
R1 is hiring a Patient Access Supervisor at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin. This onsite role leads the team responsible for patient registration and access, overseeing daily operations and supporting an exceptional patient experience. The supervisor coaches and develops team members, manages staffing and workflow, monitors performance, supports process improvements, and partners with hospital leadership and clinical teams. The schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The position offers an opportunity for an experienced Patient Access, Registration, or Revenue Cycle professional to grow a healthcare leadership career while contributing to patient experience and operational performance. The role is eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan at a target of 5%.
Requirements
- Experience in Patient Access, Patient Registration, Admissions, or Revenue Cycle.
- Previous supervisory or healthcare leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of daily Patient Access operations.
- Experience coaching and developing frontline employees.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Comfortable managing staffing, productivity, quality, and operational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily Patient Access and hospital registration operations.
- Coach, develop, and provide performance feedback to Patient Access team members.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, workflow, and productivity.
- Ensure accurate and efficient patient registration, admissions, and insurance processes.
- Monitor quality and performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with hospital leadership and clinical teams to improve patient flow.
- Support staff with escalated patient or operational concerns.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current on insurance and payer requirements.
- Drive improvements that strengthen patient experience and revenue cycle performance.
