About The Position

Inova Primary Leesburg is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Specialist. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The specialist follows Inova Health System’s Service Excellence standards while supporting patient admission and scheduling, insurance verification, and financial counseling. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of patient access experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intake, registration, and documentation, including complex cases, error resolution, authorization confirmation, and document validation and indexing.
• Prepare schedules, track records, and efficiently navigate multiple systems.
• Coordinate documentation and follow up on case-related tasks.
• Assess coverage and initiate financial assistance.
• Apply payer-specific rules, resolve insurance issues, and identify contract limitations.
• Resolve moderate patient concerns and track follow-ups.
• Educate patients about kiosks and report usage trends.
• Coordinate with departments, tailor communications, and support patients.
• Validate insurance and track referral status.
• Schedule specialty visits and coordinate visit preparation.
• Coordinate transportation for patients with special needs.
• Resolve minor chart issues and assist with release of information (ROI).
• Provide documentation to utilization review (UR) teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
