About The Position

The Patient Access Specialist Sr schedules and registers patients, obtains demographic information, and performs related clerical functions. This is an onsite, full-time day-shift position at UCHealth UCHlth Cancer Ctr Parkview in Pueblo, Colorado, within the Cardiac Vasc Diag Ctr department. The schedule is listed as 0.00 hours per two-week pay period. Pay is $15.30–$22.53 per hour, dependent on the applicant’s relevant experience. The role includes scheduling appointments and registering patients for medical care, including laboratory, outpatient, physician, and other medical office services. It also involves collecting and confirming patient, insurance, and case-specific information; verifying eligibility for government insurance payors; and reviewing accounts for outstanding balances. Responsibilities

Schedule appointments and follow-up appointments, assigning the appropriate visit length per physician request.
Instruct patients about what to bring to appointments and provide appointment time and physician location information.
Register patients for medical care, including laboratory, outpatient, physician, and other medical office services.
Pre-register patients when needed.
Collect and confirm complete patient demographics, current employer, emergency contact information, insurance, and case-specific information such as referring physician.
Verify insurance eligibility for governmental insurance payors, including Medicaid, Medicare, and Tricare.
Complete Medicare Secondary Payor Questionnaires for Medicare-eligible patients when needed.
Review patient accounts for outstanding balances and forward them to Accounting.
Use critical thinking and decisive judgment, work with minimal supervision, and take appropriate action in a fast-paced environment.
