About The Position
The Patient Access Representative 1 registers patients for clinical services by obtaining pertinent information, verifying insurance benefits, and collecting payments. This is an on-site role at UHealth Tower with a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The duties listed describe the general nature of the role and may vary based on departmental needs; other consistent duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform full patient registration and ensure insurance is verified and patient information is correct.
- Obtain copies of insurance cards, driver’s licenses, and applicable referrals.
- Explain Consent for Treatment, Financial Liability, and HIPAA to patients and obtain signed forms.
- Instruct patients to complete any questionnaires required by the physician.
- Schedule follow-up appointments, cancel and edit appointments, and accurately record no-show patients.
- Reconcile vouchers and deliver them to the designated area.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to questions and inquiries or transfer calls when appropriate.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
