About The Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a Patient Access Rep for General Surgery in Wareham, Massachusetts. Under the supervision and direction of the Practice Coordinator/Manager or designee, this role checks patients in and out at assigned practices and performs pre-registration functions, including scheduling patient visits, tests, and surgical procedures. The position may also involve greeting patients, answering and triaging telephone calls, performing clerical and administrative functions, and covering different offices as needed or directed. The schedule is 40 hours per week on the day shift, with a flexible start time between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Pay is based on experience, within the stated range.

Requirements

• Education equivalent to completing four years of high school.
• Good computer and typing skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19, or qualify for an exemption for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying the choice to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

• One year of medical office practice experience, graduation from a medical secretary program, or equivalent.
