About The Position
Ascension St. Vincent's Southside Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Rep for a full-time, day shift position in Jacksonville, FL. This role is crucial in ensuring patients have a smooth and efficient experience when accessing healthcare services. The Patient Access Rep will be responsible for gathering essential patient information, resolving procedural issues, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with insurance providers for pre-certification and authorization.
Requirements
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Responsibilities
- Gather necessary demographic, insurance and clinical information from patient and enters into appropriate database.
- Seek appropriate resources to resolve issues about the type, date or location of prescribed procedures.
- Schedule patient procedures in a manner that most efficiently utilizes the patient's time and clinical resources.
- Coordinate and communicate schedules.
- Assists with coordination of activities related to insurance pre-certification/authorization.
