About The Position

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other activities, within a Michaels store. Create a fun, creative, and engaging experience for guests while providing friendly customer service, helping customers find products, and ensuring fast, friendly checkout. Complete store operations as needed, including truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. This role also supports store programs and procedures, and is cross-trained in Custom Framing sales and production.

Requirements

Retail and/or customer service experience is required.
Experience working with children and children’s events is required.
Excellent people skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests of all ages and co-workers.
Ability to handle job stress.
Good written, verbal, and nonverbal communication and listening skills.
Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.
Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
Ability to remain standing for long periods and move throughout the store.
Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly, lift heavy boxes, and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other events.
Engage guests of all ages and create an environment of fun and creativity.
Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects, face painting, and other activities.
Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons according to company standards.
Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
Answer emails, make phone calls, complete paperwork, and perform other event-related administrative tasks.
Adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs, create backup or emergency plans, and ensure client satisfaction.
Set up, break down, and clean before and after events, following cleanliness and safety standards.
Help customers locate products and find solutions, provide fast and friendly checkout, and promote Rewards and Private Label Credit Card programs.
Educate customers about the Voice of Customer survey and assist with BOPIS and SFS processes.
Participate in truck unloading, stocking, planogram processes, merchandise recovery, SISO, and AD set duties as assigned.
Support shrink and safety programs and follow company policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements.
Interact respectfully with customers and co-workers, maintain a positive attitude, and model the organization’s vision and values.
Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
Participate in daily store cleanliness activities, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining restrooms.
Perform other duties as assigned.
