About The Position

The Parts Sales Representative is responsible for daily parts sales and stocking, providing excellent service to AgriVision Equipment Group and PrairieLand Partners (AVE-PLP) customers and service technicians. The role reports to the Parts Manager and is non-exempt, with no supervisory duties. Previous knowledge or experience with large agricultural equipment or commercial/turf equipment is welcome but not required; training may be provided to the right individual.

The position is based in Massena, Iowa. Work includes occasional outdoor exposure to extreme heat or cold, uneven terrain, insects, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The workplace has a moderate noise level and requires a clean, safety-conscious environment. Required personal protective equipment includes cold-weather gear, eye protection, gloves, and a provided uniform. Work may involve long hours and overtime during holidays, weekends, and evenings, as well as rotating on-call responsibility for up to one week at a time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner that supports AVE-PLP’s DNA.
• Knowledge of parts merchandising and related selling techniques.
• Knowledge of financial management as it pertains to the Parts Department.
• Ability to maintain positive, professional working relationships and demonstrate teamwork and exemplary customer service.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing with customers, employees, and peers.
• Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass driving record (MVR), criminal history background, employment verification, and drug screening checks before employment begins.
• Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including frequent moderate physical work involving lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds and occasional handling of up to 75 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• One year of customer service experience.
• Previous merchandising and parts sales experience.
• Forklift license, or ability to obtain one.
• Previous experience or knowledge of large agricultural equipment or commercial/turf equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sell parts to AVE-PLP customers at the store and at customer locations.
• Maintain good relationships with AVE-PLP customers and service technicians.
• Maintain an accurate and effective inventory control system.
• Help keep the parts department clean and orderly.
• Record all sales and counter transactions.
• Supply parts to service technicians as required.
• Assist the Parts Manager with merchandising displays.
• Verify incoming shipments.
• Follow up on shortages and report them to the Parts Manager for expediting.
• Perform other duties as required to support the success of AVE-PLP.
