Longo Toyota Parts Runner
About The Position
The Parts Runner pulls and delivers parts for the Parts Department, working closely with parts counter staff to secure, deliver, and maintain parts inventory. This is an entry-level, team-oriented role that offers on-the-job learning and opportunities to develop a career in automotive parts operations. The position is 100% on site at Longo Toyota in El Monte, California, and pays a base hourly rate of $18.00. The role requires attention to detail, a positive attitude, strong communication, and the ability to work as part of a team. The Parts Runner also helps maintain the department’s professional appearance and supports shipping and receiving as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid California driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that can be maintained.
- At least six months of shipping and receiving experience, preferably in a parts department.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and basic mathematical principles, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow up with internal and external guests.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in English.
- Ability to work well with the public and communicate professionally by phone, Internet, and in person.
- Ability to use standard office equipment.
Responsibilities
- Pull and deliver parts to technicians.
- Pick up cores and warranty parts from technicians’ stalls.
- Help stock parts and post orders when they arrive.
- Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to other dealers or guests when needed.
- Keep the golf cart clean.
- Help with shipping and receiving when necessary.
- Operate the forklift when necessary.
- Perform administrative functions as directed by management.
- Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Maintain high ethical standards in all actions.
