About The Position

The Parts Runner pulls and delivers parts for the Parts Department, working with parts counter staff to secure, deliver, and maintain parts inventory. This is an entry-level, team-oriented role that can provide on-the-job learning about how a parts department operates. The position is 100% on site at Longo Toyota in El Monte, California, and pays a base hourly rate of $18.00.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid California driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that is maintained.
• At least six months of shipping and receiving experience; parts department experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive parts and basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow up with internal and external guests.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information in English.
• Ability to work well with the public and communicate professionally by phone, Internet, and in person.
• Ability to use standard office equipment.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting objects up to 50 pounds, working outdoors in varied weather and noisy environments, and operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pull and deliver parts to technicians.
• Pick up cores and warranty parts from technicians’ stalls.
• Assist with stocking and posting incoming orders.
• Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to other dealers or guests when needed.
• Keep the golf cart clean.
• Assist with shipping and receiving when necessary.
• Operate the forklift when necessary.
• Perform administrative functions as directed by management.
• Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Maintain high ethical standards in all actions.
