About The Position

Franklin Chevrolet is seeking a Parts Counterperson to oversee parts sales and support internal and external customers. The role includes responding to customer inquiries, identifying and quoting parts, fulfilling orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating parts procurement and billing. The position is based in a dealership described as having an air-conditioned shop and an employee lounge.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal and time-management skills.
Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Prior auto parts sales experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Effectively and efficiently discuss customer parts status.
Read and understand the parts catalog to identify and discuss specific parts.
Answer phone calls and provide customers with price quotes and other information.
Review body shop estimates to verify that ordered parts are correct and pricing aligns with the estimate.
Provide a high level of service to internal and external customers.
Pull and fill orders from stock and conduct weekly bin checks to maintain inventory accuracy.
Notify the parts manager about out-of-stock parts or shop materials requiring immediate attention.
Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders when necessary.
Ensure internal parts requests are billed to the service repair order.
Receive retail customer payments or obtain credit authorization.
