About The Position

Les Stanford Chevrolet and Cadillac is hiring a Parts Counterperson to join its team. The family-owned and operated dealership has been in business since 1968 and describes itself as the largest Corvette dealer in the Midwest. The role oversees parts sales and provides service to both internal and external customers, including identifying, locating, processing, and billing parts. The position operates Monday through Friday, with no Saturdays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior auto parts sales experience is preferred.
Eagerness to improve in a dynamic work environment.
Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner, including providing updates about parts status.
Read and understand the parts catalog to identify and discuss specific parts.
Answer phone calls and provide price quotes and other information to customers.
Review body shop estimates to verify that ordered parts are correct and pricing aligns with the estimate.
Provide high-level service to internal and external customers.
Pull and fill orders from stock and conduct weekly bin checks to ensure stock accuracy.
Notify the parts manager about out-of-stock parts or shop materials requiring immediate attention.
Locate out-of-stock parts from external sources and submit emergency orders when necessary.
Ensure internal parts requests are billed to the service repair order.
Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
