About The Position

East Wind Nannies is seeking a part-time nanny for a family in Fox Chapel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with 28 guaranteed hours per week and the possibility of additional hours for the right fit or occasional date-night coverage. The family is flexible on the ASAP start date for the ideal candidate. The hourly rate is $25–$28. The nanny’s primary companion during the day will be the family’s easygoing 15-month-old, while two older children, ages four and six, attend school on varying schedules. The nanny will manage the youngest child’s routine, including naps, meals, playtime, and outdoor activities, and help with school drop-offs and pickups within about 10 minutes of home. The mother remains the children’s primary caregiver and will be in and out during the day; the father works from home when he is not traveling. The nanny should be comfortable taking ownership of the day and coordinating with the mother as needed. When the children are occupied or at school, the nanny will help with child-related household tasks such as laundry, changing sheets, tidying bedrooms and the playroom, vacuuming children’s spaces, bringing in groceries, preparing fruit and vegetables, and light dinner preparation. The family has a senior hypoallergenic dog who needs to go outside once or twice during the day and may occasionally join the nanny and youngest child for a walk. Outings and playdates are encouraged, and the nanny may use their own vehicle or a family car when available. The family values initiative, confidence, open communication, mutual respect, and a collaborative relationship. They are seeking a long-term nanny for approximately three to four years. One week of vacation is provided at the family’s choice, one week at the nanny’s choice, and major holidays are paid. Occasional date nights and additional hours may be available for a nanny who is interested.

Requirements

At least two years of previous nanny experience.
A valid driver’s license, a vehicle, and a clean driving record.
Ability to be proactive, organized, energetic, dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and detail-oriented.
Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently while coordinating with the family.
A patient, kind, playful, active, and attentive approach to caring for children with different ages and needs.
Comfort working in a busy household and helping maintain an organized home.

Nice To Haves

Interest in a long-term position of approximately three to four years.
Willingness to work occasional date nights or additional hours.
Comfort using either a personal vehicle or a family car for outings and transportation when available.

Responsibilities

Manage the 15-month-old child’s daily routine, including naps, meals, playtime, and outdoor activities.
Help with school drop-offs and pickups for the older children.
Spend one-on-one time with the older children as their schedules allow.
Support child-related household tasks, including laundry, changing sheets, tidying bedrooms and the playroom, and vacuuming children’s spaces.
Bring in groceries, chop fruits and vegetables, and assist with light dinner preparation.
Let the family dog outside once or twice during the day and occasionally take the dog for a walk.
Plan or participate in outings and playdates.
Coordinate with the mother as needed while independently taking ownership of the day.
Optionally provide occasional date-night care and take on additional hours.
