About The Position

East Wind Nannies is hiring a part-time nanny for a family in Fox Chapel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The nanny will care primarily for a 15-month-old while the family's 6-year-old and 4-year-old attend school on varying schedules. The position is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with 28 guaranteed hours per week. Additional hours may be available for a suitable candidate or for occasional date-night coverage. The anticipated start is ASAP, with flexibility for the right fit. The family hopes to find a long-term nanny for the next 3–4 years. The nanny will manage the youngest child's routine, including naps, meals, playtime, and outdoor activities; assist with school transportation and spend one-on-one time with the older children as schedules allow. The family values a collaborative, proactive caregiver who can take ownership of the day, make independent decisions, and coordinate with the mother as needed. The mother is the children's primary caregiver and is in and out during the day; the father works from home when not traveling. When the children are occupied or at school, the nanny will help with child-related household tasks such as laundry, changing sheets, tidying bedrooms and the playroom, vacuuming children's spaces, bringing in groceries, preparing fruit and vegetables, and light dinner preparation. The family has a senior hypoallergenic dog that needs to go outside once or twice during the day and may occasionally join walks. Outings and playdates are encouraged. The nanny may use their own vehicle or a family car when available. The family seeks a dependable, trustworthy, punctual, organized, energetic, detail-oriented and confident caregiver who is playful, patient, kind, and attentive to each child's needs. They value initiative, open communication, mutual respect, and a clean, organized home. The position pays $25–$28 per hour. Paid vacation includes one week chosen by the family, one week chosen by the nanny, and all major holidays.

Requirements

At least 2 years of previous nanny experience.
Valid driver's license, a vehicle, and a clean driving record.
Ability to take initiative, organize and manage a busy household day, and make decisions independently.
Dependable, punctual, trustworthy, and detail-oriented.
Patient, kind, playful, energetic, and attentive to children's needs.

Responsibilities

Care primarily for the 15-month-old, managing the child's naps, meals, playtime, and outdoor activities.
Assist with school drop-offs and pickups for the older children, within about 10 minutes of the home.
Spend one-on-one time with the older children as their schedules allow.
Take ownership of the day and make decisions independently while coordinating with the mother as needed.
Complete child-related household tasks, including children's laundry, changing sheets, tidying bedrooms and the playroom, and vacuuming children's spaces.
Bring in groceries, chop fruits and vegetables, and assist with light dinner preparation.
Let the family dog outside once or twice during the day and occasionally take the dog on walks.
Plan or participate in outings and playdates with the children.
Be available for occasional date-night care if interested.
