About The Position

East Wind Nannies is recruiting a full-time nanny and mother’s helper for a family in Fox Chapel, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The mother remains the children’s primary caregiver, and the nanny will work alongside her as a teammate rather than taking over sole childcare. The children are 6, 4, and 1 years old; the 1-year-old will be the nanny’s primary companion while the older children attend school on varying schedules. The family also has a senior hypoallergenic dog. The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Wednesday from 2:30 PM to an unspecified end time, with 40 hours guaranteed per week. The start date is ASAP, with flexibility for the right candidate. The hourly rate is $25–$27. The family would appreciate occasional earlier or later hours when the father travels, with advance notice whenever possible. The role is intended to become a long-term family partnership, potentially lasting 3–4 years. The nanny will help coordinate school drop-offs and pickups, care for the toddler, and support the family’s daily routines, including naps, meals, playtime, outings, and playdates. When the children are occupied or at school, the nanny will assist with household tasks focused on the children and family, such as children’s laundry, changing sheets, tidying bedrooms and the playroom, vacuuming children’s spaces, bringing in groceries, preparing fruit and vegetables, and light dinner preparation. The nanny will also let the dog outside once or twice during the day and may occasionally take the dog and baby for a walk. The parents value open communication, mutual respect, and a cooperative, organized approach to family life.

Requirements

At least 2 years of previous nanny experience.
A valid driver’s license, a vehicle, and a clean driving record.
Ability and willingness to work alongside an involved parent in a collaborative household.
Dependable, punctual, trustworthy, organized, energetic, patient, kind, and detail-oriented approach to childcare and household support.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with the mother, who remains the children’s primary caregiver, to share childcare and household responsibilities.
Provide care and companionship primarily for the 1-year-old while the older children attend school on varying schedules.
Help with school drop-offs and pickups, which are within approximately 10 minutes of the home.
Support the children’s naps, meals, playtime, outings, and playdates.
Complete family-assistant tasks when the children are occupied or at school, including children’s laundry, changing sheets, tidying bedrooms and the playroom, and vacuuming children’s spaces.
Bring in groceries, chop fruits and vegetables, and assist with light dinner preparation.
Let the senior dog outside once or twice during the day and occasionally walk the dog with the baby.
Communicate openly and contribute proactively to a cooperative, organized household.
Occasionally accommodate earlier or later hours when the father travels, with advance notice whenever possible.
