About The Position

Emory Campus Services is hiring a Painter to perform industrial and commercial painting on structures, furnishings, wall surfaces, equipment, and roads. The role uses paintbrushes, rollers, and sprayers and may include hanging and finishing drywall or wallpaper. The Painter prepares work surfaces, protects furnishings and floor coverings, mixes and matches finishes to job specifications, follows required safeguards and regulations, and cleans and maintains tools and materials after assignments. The position also involves driving utility vehicles and conducting their daily inspections, maintenance, and safe operation while protecting them from vandalism or theft. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of commercial painting experience.
• Valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
• Satisfactorily pass a Medical Respiratory Clearance Test and Respirator Fit Test before beginning work and annually.

Responsibilities

• Paint structures, furnishings, wall surfaces, equipment, and roads using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Hang and finish drywall and wallpaper as needed.
• Prepare surfaces before beginning projects.
• Move or protect furnishings and floor coverings before painting, and post wet signs where needed.
• Mix and match paint, stain, and other finishes to job specifications.
• Follow mandated safeguards, rules, and regulations.
• Clean and maintain painting tools and materials after each assignment.
• Drive utility vehicles and perform daily inspections, maintenance, and safe operation; safeguard vehicles against vandalism or theft.
• Perform related responsibilities as required.
