Painter (Evening Shift) - Emory Campus Services
About The Position
Emory Campus Services is seeking a painter to perform industrial and commercial painting on structures, furnishings, walls, equipment, and roads. The role involves preparing surfaces; protecting furnishings and floor coverings; mixing and matching paint and finishes; and cleaning and maintaining tools and materials after each assignment. The painter may also hang and finish drywall and wallpaper. The position works Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and includes driving and caring for utility vehicles. Employees must follow applicable safeguards, rules, and regulations and perform related responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three years of commercial painting experience.
- Valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
- Must satisfactorily pass a Medical Respiratory Clearance Test and a Respirator Fit Test before beginning work and annually thereafter.
- Some positions in this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
Responsibilities
- Paints structures, furnishings, wall surfaces, equipment, and roads using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
- May hang and finish drywall and wallpaper.
- Prepares surfaces before beginning projects.
- Moves and protects furnishings and floor coverings before painting, and posts wet-paint signs where needed.
- Mixes and matches paint, stain, and other finishes to job specifications.
- Follows required safeguards, rules, and regulations.
- Cleans and maintains painting tools and materials after completing assignments.
- Drives utility vehicles and conducts daily inspections, maintains vehicles, operates them safely, and safeguards them against vandalism or theft.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
