About The Position

Emory Campus Services is seeking a painter to perform industrial and commercial painting on structures, furnishings, wall surfaces, equipment, and roads. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The role may also involve hanging and finishing drywall and wallpaper. The painter prepares surfaces, protects furnishings and floors, posts wet-paint signs as needed, and mixes and matches finishes to job specifications. The position also includes following required safeguards and regulations, maintaining painting tools and materials, and operating utility vehicles safely and responsibly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of commercial painting experience.
• Valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
• Satisfactorily pass a Medical Respiratory Clearance Test and a Respirator Fit Test before beginning work and annually thereafter.
• Some positions may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and bend, stoop, and twist.

Responsibilities

• Paint structures, furnishings, wall surfaces, equipment, and roads using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Hang and finish drywall and wallpaper as needed.
• Prepare surfaces before beginning painting projects.
• Move or protect furnishings and floor coverings, and post wet-paint signs where needed.
• Mix and match paint, stain, and other finishes to job specifications.
• Follow mandated safeguards, rules, and regulations.
• Clean and maintain painting tools and materials after each assignment.
• Drive utility vehicles and conduct daily inspections, maintain vehicles, operate them safely, and protect them against vandalism or theft.
• Perform related responsibilities as required.
