About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is hiring a part-time Package Handler to load, unload, and sort freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. The role is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, with a 6:00 AM start, and pays $19.00–$24.25 per hour based on experience. Starting pay depends on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity; employees are generally hired below the range maximum, with compensation growth based on company policies, performance, and individual development. The position is pay grade A and nonexempt. The company is family owned and operated, was founded in 1978, and provides standard next-day ground delivery. Spee Dee Delivery has more than 1,800 employees company-wide. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to communicate verbally, manage time efficiently, stay organized, and pay attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight; lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight in trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
