Part-Time Package Handler

About The Position

The Part-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and in a timely manner to support quick delivery. The position involves unloading packages by hand from fleet vehicles, scanning package barcodes for tracking, sorting packages by zip code, city, or state, and stacking freight in trailers and delivery routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently. The handler may also wash fleet vehicles and perform light custodial duties to help maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment, as well as perform other duties as assigned. Available shifts are Monday through Friday, 10:00 PM–3:00 AM, or Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 AM–5:30 AM. Pay is $19.00–$24.25 per hour, based on experience. Starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. The position is part-time and nonexempt. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and able to pass a criminal background check.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work with various types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities
