About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery, and it has expanded throughout the Midwest. The Part-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. Available shifts are Monday through Friday starting at 4:30 p.m. or Tuesday through Saturday starting at 5:30 a.m. The pay range is $19.00–$24.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. The position is part-time, paygrade A, and nonexempt. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Requirements

At least 16 years of age.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work with various types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels during unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by ZIP code, city, or state.
Stack freight in trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
