About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery. The Part-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support quick delivery. The position works Monday through Friday, starting at 4:00 p.m., and pays $19.00–$24.25 per hour based on experience. Starting pay is determined by relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity; employees are generally hired below the range maximum, with compensation increases based on company policies, performance, and individual development. The position is Part-Time, Pay Grade A, and nonexempt.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to communicate verbally, manage time efficiently, stay organized, and pay attention to detail.
Ability to read labels quickly and work independently.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by zip code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
