About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is a family-owned and operated company founded in 1978. Its core business is standard, next-day, ground delivery, and it has more than 1,800 employees across the Midwest. The Part-Time Package Handler loads, unloads, and sorts freight accurately and promptly to support timely delivery. This position is part-time, nonexempt, and scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Pay is $19.00–$24.25 per hour, based on experience; starting pay depends on relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Efficient time-management skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently.
Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work with freight that may include hazardous materials, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles.
Scan package barcode labels during unloading for tracking purposes.
Sort packages by ZIP code, city, or state.
Stack freight into trailers and routes to prevent damage and use space efficiently.
Wash fleet vehicles as needed to maintain the company image.
Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
