Overnight Valet Driver - Detroit Hospitality
About The Position
SP+, a Metropolis company, is hiring a valet driver to provide safe, courteous parking and transportation experiences for clients and customers in Detroit. The role is scheduled from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and pays $18 to $19 per hour, plus the opportunity to earn tips. The position requires obtaining a Parking Attendant License. Valet drivers inspect vehicles before parking them, explain rates, follow traffic laws and safe driving practices, and communicate professionally with customers. They are expected to report accidents and other safety or policy issues, arrive on time in a clean uniform, and assist management with additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Obtain a Parking Attendant License.
- Hold a valid state driver’s license with a current address and an acceptable driving record.
- Provide proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States if hired.
- Provide accurate information to customers and coworkers and respond professionally to customer problems or complaints.
- Read, write, add, and subtract U.S. currency, and understand instructions, short emails, and memos.
- Follow written and verbal instructions and adapt calmly to changes, delays, and unexpected events while working.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to safely drive a vehicle with a manual transmission (stick shift).
- Availability to work special shifts, including second or third shift, and/or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Resolve client requests and concerns efficiently, find solutions to problems, and communicate proactively with clients.
- Inspect each vehicle before parking it and note any findings.
- Explain valet rates to customers.
- Observe traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Report accidents, safety hazards, unusual occurrences, and policy violations to management.
- Know major local streets, landmarks, and freeways to support customers’ transportation experience.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts in a clean uniform and remain in uniform throughout the shift.
- Assist management with additional duties as assigned.
