About The Position

The Overnight Stock Associate supports store operations by providing customer service, promoting merchandise and store events, communicating customer and stocking needs to management, and helping the team meet store and company goals. The role involves working with merchandise on the sales floor and in the stock room, using store technology, and maintaining a positive and productive shopping and work environment. Schedules are flexible to meet business needs and may include day, evening, weekend, or overnight shifts and travel as required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including day, evening, weekend, and potentially overnight shifts; travel may be required.
• Comfortable using, or willing to learn, technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices.
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
• Ability to handle customer interactions and concerns courteously and professionally.
• Basic information-gathering skills for problem-solving.
• Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Ability to move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5 to 10 feet.
• Ability to frequently climb and descend ladders, kneel, bend, twist, stoop, and move across the sales floor and between the sales floor and stock room.
• Ability to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
• Ability to communicate and accurately exchange information with customers, managers, and coworkers, in person and by telephone.

Responsibilities

• Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, assist multiple customers efficiently, and respond to their needs.
• Share product knowledge, answer questions, direct customers to merchandise, make recommendations, and use suggestive selling while staying informed about product availability.
• Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
• Address customer concerns and offer solutions, including alternatives that may turn returns into exchanges when possible.
• Keep management informed about restocking and service needs, as well as customer feedback.
• Collaborate with the team to support store and company goals and contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
• Operate store devices and equipment, move and stock merchandise, retrieve and put away stock, and assist customers across the sales floor.
• Read and understand email and printed instructions related to merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
