About The Position

The Overnight Security Officer helps ensure the safety and security of associates, guests, and property assets during the overnight shift. The role supports the company’s goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values while providing a professional security presence and customer service. The position requires regular property patrols, incident response and reporting, surveillance monitoring, maintaining security records, and supporting associate safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of security experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification and ability to present a current Guard Card.
• Previous experience working an overnight shift schedule.
• Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; nearly all programs are used daily.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior property patrols, checking for unsecured doors and rooms, trespassers, unauthorized persons in restricted areas, and safety hazards.
• Respond to guest and associate calls while on patrol, prioritizing emergencies.
• Draft incident reports and keep records current, including key logs, lost and found, group resumes, contractor passes, and emergency equipment records, through daily audits.
• Complete daily shift logs and shift pass-down logs.
• Monitor CCTV and maintain surveillance of the grounds through the camera system.
• Conduct associate safety training and report or resolve safety hazards throughout the property.
• Respond to incidents, communicate about them, follow up, and provide updates as they occur.
• Maintain knowledge of property activities and events for each shift, provide a professional security presence focused on customer service, and receive and communicate shift information from daily briefings.
