About The Position

The Overnight Seasonal Freight Associate supports Five Below's store operations by assisting customers, promoting products and store events, addressing customer concerns, and communicating merchandise and service needs to management. The associate works with the team to support store and company goals. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include overnight shifts, evenings, weekends, and travel as required. It involves frequent use of store devices, merchandise handling and stocking, ladder use, and movement throughout the sales floor and stock room. The position is hourly and starts at $11.00.

Requirements

At least 16 years old.
Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, which may include day, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, as well as travel as required.
Comfortable using or willing to learn technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices.
Good communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
Ability to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
Ability to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
Ability to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or remove merchandise at heights of 5–10 feet.
Frequently ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock.
Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor.
Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone.
Identify and discern email and printed instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

Greet and promptly assist customers, including managing multiple customer interactions efficiently.
Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, locating merchandise, and offering recommendations.
Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
Address customer concerns and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, including exchanges when appropriate.
Communicate merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the team to support store and company goals and a positive, productive work environment.
Operate store devices; move, retrieve, and put away merchandise; and assist customers across the sales floor and stock room.
