Overnight Maintenance Engineer | Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER
About The Position
The Overnight Maintenance Engineer is responsible for upkeep, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other general maintenance needs in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. The role requires a strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units, along with basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures. The ideal applicant is customer-service oriented and committed to making the guest experience memorable. The position works overnight from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., including weekends and holidays. The engineer handles guest complaints to ensure satisfaction, maintains quality and cleanliness standards, follows safety, security, and departmental procedures, assists with scheduled inventories, and follows maintenance programs and cleaning schedules. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience, preferably in a hotel.
- Strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units.
- Basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment critical to building operations and proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for work assignments.
- Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Availability to work overnight, including weekends and holidays.
