Maintenance Engineer | Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER
About The Position
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for upkeep, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other general maintenance needs, in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. The role calls for a customer-service-oriented person committed to making the guest experience memorable. Work is in person at the Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER. Full-time and part-time positions are available; the description also refers to a full-time position with benefits. Flexible scheduling may include varied shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience, preferably in a hotel.
- Strong background in commercial refrigeration.
- Knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units.
- Basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment critical to building operations.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and comply with work-assignment deadlines.
- Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Customer-service orientation.

- Franchised hotel experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform upkeep, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on ice machines, refrigeration units, and air handling units.
- Perform other general maintenance in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards.
- Handle guest complaints and work to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain quality and cleanliness standards during daily assignments.
- Observe house, safety, departmental, and security rules and procedures.
- Assist with inventories as scheduled.
- Follow the maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
- Prioritize assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
