Maintenance Engineer | Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER
About The Position
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for upkeep, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of ice machines, refrigeration units, air handling units, and other general maintenance systems, in accordance with Shaner Hotels and franchise standards. The role requires a strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units, along with basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures. The ideal applicant is customer-service oriented and committed to making the guest experience memorable. The position involves responding to guest complaints to ensure satisfaction, maintaining quality and cleanliness standards, and following safety, departmental, security, maintenance, and cleaning procedures. Work is performed in person at Buffalo Marriott LECOM HARBORCENTER. Flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, may be required.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience; hotel experience is preferred.
- Strong background in commercial refrigeration and knowledge of ice machines, industrial chiller systems, and air handling units.
- Basic working knowledge of general maintenance procedures.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment critical to building operations, and proper chemical handling and disposal.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines.
- Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

- Observe house, safety, departmental, and security procedures.
- Assist with inventories as scheduled.
- Follow the maintenance program and cleaning schedule.
- Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for work assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
