About The Position

The Overnight Freight Associate supports Five Below's store operations by assisting customers, providing product information, promoting events and sales, resolving customer concerns, and communicating merchandise and service needs to management. The associate collaborates with the team to help achieve store and company goals and contribute to a positive work environment. The role involves operating registers and other devices, moving and stocking merchandise, retrieving and putting away stock, and frequently moving between the sales floor and stock room. The associate must be able to work a flexible schedule that meets business needs, which may include overnight shifts.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Available to work a flexible schedule to meet business needs, including days, evenings, weekends, and potentially overnight shifts.
Comfortable using technology such as computers, cash registers, hand-held devices, and mobile devices, or willing to learn.
Good communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
Able to use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
Able to identify and understand email and printed instructions about merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
Able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
Able to frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds, reach merchandise at heights of 5 to 10 feet, climb ladders, and kneel, bend, twist, or stoop.
Able to frequently communicate and exchange accurate information with customers, managers, and coworkers, both in person and by telephone.

Responsibilities

Greet and acknowledge customers promptly, assist them, and handle multiple customer interactions efficiently.
Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing customers to merchandise, and offering recommendations.
Use suggestive selling and stay informed about product availability.
Inform customers about store events, promotions, and special activities.
Address customer concerns and offer solutions, including exchanges when appropriate.
Communicate merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and customer feedback to management.
Collaborate with the team to support store and company objectives and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
Operate cash registers, computers, hand-held devices, phones, walkies, and mobile devices.
Move merchandise weighing up to 25 pounds and place or retrieve merchandise at heights of 5 to 10 feet.
Use ladders to retrieve and put away stock, and move merchandise between the sales floor and stock room.
