About The Position

American Welding & Gas (AWG) is hiring an Outside Sales Territory Manager based in Black Eagle, Montana, to lead sales growth in the assigned territory and surrounding states. The role is responsible for increasing sales and gross profit by acquiring new customers and expanding business with existing customers. The manager will sell gas products and technology, build a portfolio of long-term strategic customers, and coordinate with local branch managers to support sales and customer management through retail locations.

The position also includes managing customer relationships and accounts receivable, negotiating pricing and contract terms, responding to customer concerns, meeting management-set objectives, and completing administrative work such as expense management and sales profitability analysis. Overnight travel may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of previous sales experience.
• Successful track record of managing a sales territory.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Critical-thinking skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Grow territory business by solution-selling gas products and technology to new and existing customers.
• Develop and execute plans to maintain and grow the existing customer base.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, and project scope with new and existing customers.
• Use Outlook, Call Proof, or other company-designated CRM platforms to plan, schedule, and manage time professionally across the assigned territory.
• Develop long-term relationships with strategic customers, facilitate product supply agreements, and build a customer portfolio of targeted long-term accounts.
• Review and manage existing customer accounts receivable balances to help minimize working capital investment and financial risk.
• Respond to and resolve customer issues or concerns by deploying necessary company resources.
• Maintain and demonstrate a positive attitude with associates, customers, vendors, and other business partners.
• Work with local branch managers to promote sales and customer management through retail locations in the assigned territory.
• Meet goals and objectives set by and with management.
• Perform administrative duties, including managing expenses through Concur, completing sales profitability analyses for proposal review, and preparing customer pricing and data sheets for computer contracts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
