About The Position

SumUp is hiring an Outside Sales Senior Account Executive to own a Pittsburgh-area territory and build relationships with small and medium-sized businesses. The role represents SumUp’s payment and loyalty solutions to local merchants and manages the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through demonstrations, negotiation, and closing. The position offers autonomy to build a pipeline and grow earnings, with support from a Team Lead and Regional Manager.

Requirements

• Prior sales experience in fintech, payment processing, or point-of-sale (POS) solutions.
• Comfort working independently in a field-based, territory-driven sales environment.
• Ability to connect with people, ask relevant questions, listen carefully, and adapt to each merchant.
• Comfort with cold outreach and face-to-face prospecting, including visiting local businesses.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Self-motivation, resilience, and a results-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a territory sales pipeline through prospecting, canvassing, referrals, and relationships with local businesses.
• Manage the full sales cycle, including cold outreach, door-to-door prospecting, discovery, product demonstrations, negotiation, and closing.
• Build merchant relationships, understand each business’s needs, and recommend appropriate SumUp solutions.
• Research the territory, identify high-potential opportunities, and prioritize time strategically.
• Use Salesforce to track activity, manage opportunities, and maintain consistent follow-up.
• Represent SumUp locally and explain how its payment and loyalty solutions can help merchants.
