Outside Sales Representative Trainee
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an Outside Sales Representative Trainee for its Jumpstart Program, a nine-month training course covering the company’s sales process. Trainees receive hands-on experience and training in the company’s products, services, and sales resources through classroom instruction, job shadowing, hands-on activities, and rotations across its lines of business. Successful completion of the program prepares trainees for a career in sales. Candidates must be open to relocation upon successful completion of the program. The role requires a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 21.
- Must be open to relocation upon successful completion of the program.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- High accountability, time-management skills, and willingness to learn all aspects of the business.
- Ability to meet the role’s physical demands, including bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors when required.
- Current team members must meet service and performance requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an associate degree plus one year of related experience.
- Previous sales or customer service experience preferred.
- Exposure to the construction industry preferred but not required.
- Negotiation and influencing skills are a plus.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required depending on location.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the nine-month Jumpstart sales training program.
- Learn Sunbelt Rentals’ products, services, sales process, and sales resources.
- Complete classroom training, job shadowing, hands-on activities, and rotations through the company’s lines of business.
