About The Position

Paychex is bringing payroll, HR, benefits, and advisory services together in a connected HCM platform. The Outside District Sales Manager manages the district sales effort in accordance with corporate guidelines to increase the client base through specifically approved sales and marketing programs. The role manages product-line objectives and budgets, leads sales staff, monitors performance against forecasts, and supports ongoing sales training. It also works in partnership with branch managers and represents the company to clients and the community.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Marketing.
Three years of experience in sales leadership.

Nice To Haves

Outside sales experience preferred.
Outside sales management experience preferred.
HCM experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage achievement of corporate objectives by individual product lines within the district and within budgeted financial guidelines.
Recruit, select, and direct sales staff to meet or exceed corporate goals; monitor attainment versus forecast and take corrective action when necessary.
Identify potential management candidates and bring them to the attention of the Zone Manager.
Manage line-by-line items of corporate-assigned budgets.
Represent the corporation positively to clients and the community.
Work with branch managers to develop mutual objectives and solve problems using partnership principles.
Ensure accuracy of weekly activity reports and audit commission and expense reports.
Initiate, participate in, and supervise ongoing training of assigned sales representatives in technical knowledge, competitive knowledge, and sales skills.
