About The Position

VHC Health Rehabilitation is expanding with a beautiful new outpatient clinic in Old Town Alexandria. We are looking for an experienced pelvic health therapist to work in close proximity to VHC Health’s largest OBGYN practice and collaboratively with our team of 10 therapists who specialize in pelvic health. This dynamic team treats a variety of diagnoses including incontinence, pelvic pain, organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, ante and post-partum issues, and gender affirming procedures. This team meets regularly for educational rounds and brings valuable continuing education courses to our clinic to ensure the highest level of care for our patients. Our team values continual learning and evidence-based practice. We have a solid onboarding process that allows new team members time to learn our processes and EMR. To ensure we are able to provide the most for patients, you will have access to excellent equipment used in pelvic health evaluation and treatment including RealTime ultrasound and EMG biofeedback. Requirements

  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist by the Virginia Department of Health Professions is required.
  • BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or doctorate in physical therapy is preferred.
  • One year of experience in physical therapy is preferred.
  • Masters in occupational Therapy is preferred.
  • One year of experience in occupational therapy is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Treat a variety of diagnoses including incontinence, pelvic pain, organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, ante and post-partum issues, and gender affirming procedures.
  • Participate in regular educational rounds with the pelvic health team.
  • Utilize excellent equipment used in pelvic health evaluation and treatment including RealTime ultrasound and EMG biofeedback.
  • Provide patient and client management, which includes diagnosis and prognosis, to optimize physical function, movement, performance, health, quality of life, and well-being across the lifespan.
  • Contribute to public health services aimed at improving population health and the human experience.
  • Perform activities for which an individual physical therapist is educated, trained, and is competent to perform.
  • Engage individuals or groups in the therapeutic use of everyday life activities (occupations) for the purpose of enhancing or enabling participation in roles, habits, and routines in home, school, workplace, community, and other settings.
  • Design occupation-based intervention plans that facilitate change or growth in client factors (body functions, body structures, values, beliefs, and spirituality) and skills (motor, process, and social interaction) needed for successful participation.
  • Provide occupational therapy services for habilitation, rehabilitation, and promotion of health and wellness for clients with disability- and non-disability-related needs.
  • Acquire and preserve occupational identity for those who have or are at risk for developing an illness, injury, disease, disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation, or participation restriction.
