About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio is hiring an Outlet Store Assistant Manager in Cleveland, Ohio. The assistant manager supports the Outlet Store Manager with daily store operations and supervises the collection, processing, and pricing of donated goods while maintaining agency standards. The role helps provide high-quality goods and a supportive, inclusive, and equitable environment, while advancing Goodwill’s mission as a steward of donations and the environment.

Requirements

Retail sales experience or demonstrated potential for management.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
Good judgment, problem-solving, and delegation skills.
Knowledge of merchandise such as name brands, antiques, vintage items, and collectibles.
Ability to identify different shades and tones of color.
Computer experience.
First aid and CPR certification required; certification can be obtained after hire.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Background check required.

Bachelor’s or associate degree in business management preferred.

Responsibilities

Run daily store operations and supervise donation processing and pricing.
Maintain an attractive sales floor through effective merchandising.
Ring up purchases, handle cash and make change, and respond helpfully to customer disputes.
Hold the team accountable for proper salvage sorting and baler production, and help the team turn 220 tables daily.
Oversee quality control and inventory.
Help supervise and train new team members, and open or close the store without the supervisor.
Lead the team in following safety policies and model safe work habits.
Accurately and promptly report operations, personnel, mission and services, and safety statistics.
Help the Store Manager recruit, process, and evaluate staff as needed.
Give every donor a receipt and end every interaction with “You changed a life today, Thank you!”
