About The Position

America’s Best, part of National Vision, is seeking an optometric technician to help maintain efficient patient flow and assist the optometrist by conducting pre-screenings and testing before the doctor’s examination. The vision tests performed by the technician help the optometrist provide patient care. Optical experience and certification are not required; training is provided. Stores are closed every Sunday. The role also includes maintaining a professional doctor’s office and pretest-room environment, communicating clearly with patients, completing paperwork, performing preliminary tests, and coordinating with opticians, the doctor, or retail management when needed. Responsibilities

Ensure high-quality patient care.
Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance in the doctor’s office and pretest room.
Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing before the doctor’s examination.
Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
Perform exam pre-screening.
Carefully review prescriptions and/or patient information and identify special needs.
Consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when necessary.
Ensure doctor’s and pretest equipment is properly maintained.
