About The Position

The Optometric Technician I is responsible for helping ensure patients receive high-quality care. The position supports patients with eyewear selection and optical orders, manages frame and contact lens inventory, and performs eyewear adjustments and repairs. The role also works with physicians and office staff to address prescription questions, meet sales goals, and support patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Review physicians’ prescriptions and orders based on medical charts.
• Educate patients about corrective lens options and help them choose options suited to their medical needs and lifestyle preferences.
• Provide honest, compassionate feedback about frame aesthetics.
• Achieve sales goals and quotas set by office staff while addressing patients’ needs and preferences.
• Manage frame and contact lens inventory to support customer satisfaction and product variety.
• Communicate with physicians about questions or concerns regarding prescriptions and other eye-related issues.
• Perform eyewear adjustments and repairs.
• Place optical orders with a general understanding of insurance benefits.
