About The Position
A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also known as an Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), supports patients throughout their telemedicine remote eye exam and broader Visionworks experience. The role requires knowledge of eye health and preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The specialist helps ensure patients’ eye exam and eyewear needs are met in a simple, welcoming manner.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Nice To Haves
- Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with remote eye exam processes and serve as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
- Introduce the patient to the optometrist (OD) and provide the OD with important patient information.
- Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and give associates information to help educate patients and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.
- Support daily store operations and exam lane maintenance, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
