About The Position
The Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also called an Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), is a key part of patient care during telemedicine remote eye exams. The role supports patients throughout their Visionworks experience, helping ensure their eye exam and eyewear needs are met. The specialist is trained in eye health and preliminary testing, optics, Visionworks products and services, and managed vision care, and serves as a liaison between patients and remote telemedicine physicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Nice To Haves
- Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist with remote eye exam processes and serve as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
- Introduce the patient to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with relevant patient information.
- Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and share necessary information with associates so they can recommend products and services that meet patients’ eye care needs.
- Support daily store operations and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to address additional patient needs.
