About The Position

A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also titled Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), supports patients throughout their telemedicine remote eye exam and broader Visionworks experience. The role requires knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The specialist assists with the remote exam process, acts as a liaison between patients and telemedicine physicians, and helps ensure patients’ eye exam and eyewear needs are met.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.

Nice To Haves

• Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with remote eye exam processes and act as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
• Introduce the patient to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
• Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and give associates information to help them educate patients and recommend suitable products and services.
• Support daily store operations and patient experience goals, including maintaining the exam lane, restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to address additional patient needs.
