Optometric Assistant (Telehealth) Part Time
About The Position
A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also called an Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), is a patient-facing role dedicated to providing a positive experience during remote telemedicine eye exams. The specialist is trained and knowledgeable about eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. They guide patients through the Visionworks experience and help ensure their eye-exam and eyewear needs are met. The role assists with remote eye-exam processes, serves as a liaison between patients and telemedicine physicians, and supports the store’s exam-lane operations and patient-experience goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Nice To Haves
- Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with remote eye-exam processes and act as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
- Introduce the patient to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
- Transition patients from the doctor to the sales floor and share relevant information with associates so they can educate patients and recommend products and services that meet their eye-care needs.
- Support day-to-day store operations, including maintaining the exam lane, restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to address additional patient needs.
