About The Position

A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also known as an Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), supports patients throughout their telehealth eye exam and eyewear experience. The role requires knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. The specialist assists with remote eye exam processes and acts as a liaison between patients and remote telemedicine physicians, helping ensure patients’ eye exam and eyewear needs are met. The position also supports daily store operations related to the exam lane and patient experience, including maintaining records, restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones. This is a part-time position paying $16–$18.47 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.

Nice To Haves

Related customer or patient experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Personally assist with remote eye exam processes and act as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
Introduce the patient to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
Transition the patient from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to educate patients and recommend products and services that meet their eye care needs.
Support daily operational activities, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
