About The Position
A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also called an Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), supports patients throughout their telemedicine remote eye exam and eyewear experience. The role serves as a liaison between patients and remote physicians and uses knowledge of eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care to help ensure patients’ eye exam and eyewear needs are met. The position also supports daily exam-lane operations and patient experience goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Nice To Haves
- Related customer or patient experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with remote eye exam processes and act as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
- Introduce the patient to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
- Transition the patient from the doctor to the sales floor and share necessary information with associates so they can educate the patient and recommend suitable products and services.
- Support day-to-day exam-lane maintenance and patient experience goals, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to address additional patient needs.
