Optometric Assistant (Telehealth) Part Time
About The Position
A Visionworks Onsite Telehealth Specialist (TS), also called an Optometric Assistant (Telehealth), is the face of patient care and helps ensure a positive experience during each telemedicine remote eye exam. The specialist is trained and knowledgeable about eye health, preliminary testing, optics, products and services, and managed vision care. They guide patients through the Visionworks experience and help meet their eye exam and eyewear needs. The role assists with remote eye exam procedures and coordinates communication between patients and telemedicine physicians. It also supports exam-lane operations and the store’s patient experience goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent related job experience.
Nice To Haves
- Related customer or patient experience is preferred but not necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with remote eye exam processes and act as a liaison between patients and telemedicine remote physicians.
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records before conducting preliminary testing.
- Introduce the patient to the optometrist and provide the optometrist with important patient information.
- Transition the patient from the doctor to the sales floor and provide associates with information to help them educate patients and recommend suitable products and services.
- Support daily operational activities, including restocking inventory, cleaning equipment, and answering phones to meet additional patient needs.
